Donut Tray Boxes
Custom donut trays that hold a dozen or more donuts flat and separate, with grease-resistant support and an optional clear display lid.
Product Overview
A donut tray is built for volume: displaying and carrying lots of donuts at once for offices, events, and catering orders. It holds a dozen or more donuts flat and separate so they do not stack, roll, or smear their glaze, gives grease-resistant support under sugary, oily donuts, and often works with a clear lid so the whole colorful selection is on show. Because catering donuts are ordered to impress a room, the tray has to present them attractively and carry them steadily. From a boxed dozen for the office to a large event platter, the donut tray keeps every donut neat, visible, and appetizing.

The material is where a box earns its reputation, so we build on six industry-grade stocks: Kraft Board, Corrugated Board, Coated Art Board (C1S), Rigid Greyboard, Solid Bleached Sulfate (SBS), and Metallic Board. Each answers a different brief, eco-friendly kraft suits artisan and sustainable brands, dense greyboard carries luxury rigid boxes, and virgin-fibre SBS gives cosmetics, pharma, and premium retail their crisp finish. Need economical corrugated mailers, or the substantial feel of a magnetic-closure rigid box? Either way the FSC-certified stock we select is made to perform on shelf, in transit, and at unboxing.
How a box is finished decides whether it gets noticed or gets remembered. Choose from soft-touch matte lamination, high-gloss lamination, silk lamination, spot UV coating, gold and silver foil stamping, embossing, debossing, and aqueous coating. Spot UV lays a glossy accent over a matte field so your logo catches the light first. Soft-touch lamination wraps rigid boxes in a velvety texture that signals quality the moment they are handled. And foil stamping on SBS or coated art paper brings the sharp metallic shine that cosmetic, fragrance, and gifting brands lean on to support premium pricing and create unboxing moments worth sharing.
Choose the paper weight and you decide both the hand-feel of the box and how well it holds up through the supply chain. Our range covers lightweight 8pt to heavyweight 28pt on the point system standard among US and UK packaging suppliers. Reach for 8pt–12pt on folding cartons and high-volume retail boxes; lean on the 14pt–18pt mid-range as the everyday workhorse, protective yet economical to ship. When a project calls for presence, 20pt–28pt gives the rigid, substantial feel behind luxury gift boxes, rigid set-up boxes, and premium cosmetic packaging, where the weight of the box telegraphs quality before it is even opened.
Custom Donut Trays Built for Catering and Display
When donuts are ordered by the dozen for an office, a party, or an event, a standard donut box is not the right tool. That is where the donut tray comes in: a flat, open or windowed format designed to display and transport a lot of donuts at once, keeping each one neat and the whole colorful selection on show. Catering donuts have a particular set of demands. They need to be held flat and separate so a dozen assorted donuts do not stack, roll into each other, or smear their glazes and toppings on the drive over. They are sugary and greasy, so the tray has to resist oil without going soft. And because these orders exist to impress a room of people, presentation is everything, a great-looking tray of donuts is a centerpiece, while a jumbled, greasy one is a letdown. A good donut tray solves display, protection, and transport for volume orders all at once.
Holds a dozen or more, neatly
The whole point of a donut tray is carrying many donuts without them turning into a pile, so we build trays that hold a dozen or more flat and in place. A single layer keeps each donut visible and stops them stacking and crushing, and we can add light dividers or a shaped base so assorted donuts stay separate and do not smear their glazes onto neighbors. That keeps a big order looking like a deliberate, appetizing selection rather than a jumbled box of squashed donuts.
Grease-resistant support
Donuts are sugary, glazed, and often fried, so the tray takes a lot of grease, and we build with grease-resistant board that holds back the oil and keeps its shape. The tray stays firm and clean under a dozen rich donuts instead of going dark and floppy, so it supports the weight steadily and looks presentable when it is set down on a table. That resistance is essential for a catering format that has to look good sitting out for a while, not just at the moment of delivery.
Shows the selection off
A tray of assorted donuts is a visual treat, so we build trays that show the selection off, either fully open for a served platter or with a clear lid for transport and display. The clear lid lets the colorful, varied donuts sell themselves and keeps them protected and fresh until the moment they are revealed. That display quality is a big part of the value of a catering order, turning a dozen donuts into a centerpiece that makes an impression the second the lid comes off.
Stable for transport
Carrying a flat tray of loose donuts is precarious, so we build with a stable, rigid base and a secure lid that keep the donuts in place on the journey. The base supports the whole tray evenly so it can be carried level without flexing, and the lid stops the donuts sliding or tipping if the tray is jostled in a car. That stability means a big catering order arrives looking exactly as it was arranged, which is what a customer paying for a dozen or more donuts expects.
Sizes for every order
Catering orders vary in size, so we build the full range. Standard trays hold a dozen, larger trays carry two or three dozen for bigger gatherings, and platter styles suit buffets and served events. We match the layout to your donut sizes, so standard rings, filled donuts, and mini donuts each sit neatly, keeping the tray looking full and organized whatever the mix, and letting you offer consistent catering options across your menu.
Formats and options
Donut tray service takes a few forms, so we build for each:
- Dozen trays for office and event orders
- Two and three-dozen trays for gatherings
- Open platters for served buffets
- Clear-lid styles for transport and display
- Kraft and fully printed finishes
- Recycled and FSC-certified board options
Branding and sustainability
A donut tray sits in the middle of an office or event as a centerpiece, so it is highly visible brand space, and we print full color with your logo and colors for packaging that markets your bakery to a whole room. Because catering packaging is high volume and increasingly judged on waste, recycled and FSC-certified board, plant-based lids, and water-based inks are available for a greener tray. Donut trays sit within our wider bakery packaging range and pair with our donut boxes and cake boxes for a full catering lineup.
