Choux Boxes
Custom choux boxes with inserts and food-grade board that cradle eclairs and profiteroles, protect glaze and cream, and present them elegantly.
Product Overview
Choux pastries, eclairs, profiteroles, cream puffs, and craquelin buns, are among the most delicate things a patisserie makes. They are light and hollow, filled with cream or custard, and often finished with glaze, chocolate, or a fragile craquelin crust that dents at a touch. The box has to hold each piece secure so it does not roll and squash, keep cream-filled choux cool and fresh, and present these little showpieces beautifully, because choux sells on elegance. From a row of eclairs to a box of profiteroles, the packaging has to protect the fragile shell and the filling while making the treat look every bit as refined as it is.
Our custom choux boxes are built to cradle delicate, cream-filled pastries. In short:
- Inserts that hold each piece secure and separate
- Food-grade board for cream and custard fillings
- Gentle fit that protects glaze and craquelin
- Window or elegant finish for presentation
- Eclair rows, profiterole sets, and gift sizes
- Full-color branding, ships and stores flat
Choosing the substrate is the first decision on any project, and we keep six on hand: Kraft Board, Corrugated Board, Coated Art Board (C1S), Rigid Greyboard, Solid Bleached Sulfate (SBS), and Metallic Board. From compostable kraft for artisan and eco brands, to solid greyboard for luxury rigid boxes, to vivid SBS for cosmetics, pharma, and premium retail, there is a grade for every use. Ordering economical corrugated mailers or a magnetic-closure rigid box with real weight to it? Both start from the same pool of FSC-certified materials, selected to look sharp on shelf, ship safely, and land well at unboxing.
Finishing is where a box makes its impression, and we bring every technique to the table: soft-touch matte lamination, high-gloss lamination, silk lamination, spot UV coating, gold and silver foil stamping, embossing, debossing, and aqueous coating. Use spot UV for a gloss-on-matte contrast that pulls focus to your logo, or soft-touch lamination to wrap a rigid box in a velvety feel that reads as premium before it is opened. Foil stamping on SBS or coated art paper supplies the crisp metallic detail cosmetic, fragrance, and gifting brands rely on to support premium pricing and earn unboxing moments worth sharing.
Weight is the quiet detail that decides how a box feels and how it travels, so we carry every option from lightweight 8pt to heavyweight 28pt, graded on the point system shared by US and UK suppliers. Lightweight 8pt–12pt fits folding cartons and high-volume retail boxes neatly. The 14pt–18pt mid-range is the workhorse of product packaging, protective where it counts, still economical to ship. Heavyweight 20pt–28pt gives the rigid, substantial feel that luxury gift boxes, rigid set-up boxes, and premium cosmetic packaging demand, where the heft of the box signals quality before it is even opened.
Custom Choux Boxes That Cradle Delicate, Cream-Filled Pastries
Choux pastry is patisserie at its most delicate. Eclairs, profiteroles, cream puffs, and craquelin buns are light, hollow shells filled with cream, custard, or ganache and finished with glossy glazes, chocolate, or a crisp craquelin top, and every one of those features is fragile. The shell dents and cracks under the slightest pressure, the filling makes them heavy and prone to squashing, the glaze smears if it touches a lid, and a cream filling needs to stay cool and fresh. On top of all that, choux are little showpieces bought as a treat or a gift, so the packaging has to present them with the elegance their price implies. A box that just holds them is not enough; it has to cradle each piece, protect the finish, keep the cream fresh, and look as refined as the pastry. That is exactly what a purpose-built choux box does.
Cradles each piece
The biggest risk to choux is movement, so we build in inserts, trays, and dividers that cradle each eclair, profiterole, or cream puff and hold it securely in place. That stops the pieces rolling, sliding, and squashing against each other, which is what ruins a box of loose choux in transit. Keeping each piece in its own spot means an eclair stays straight and a cream puff keeps its shape, so the customer opens a box that looks as neat and deliberate as the display it came from.
Protects glaze and craquelin
The finish is what makes choux beautiful, and it is easily ruined, so we build boxes with enough clearance and a gentle fit that the glaze, chocolate, or delicate craquelin crust never gets smudged or crushed. That clearance keeps a glossy eclair top pristine and a craquelin bun's crackly crown intact, so the little details a pastry chef worked on survive the journey. Protecting that finish is central, because with choux the decoration is a big part of what the customer is paying for.
Keeps cream fresh
Choux are filled with cream and custard that need to stay cool and fresh, so we build with food-grade board and materials suited to chilled, moist fillings. The box holds up to the condensation of a fridge and a creamy filling without going soft, so it stays firm and clean from the display case to the table. That reliability protects both the pastry and the customer, since a cream-filled choux is best enjoyed fresh and cool, and a soggy box would undermine a delicate, expensive treat.
Presents them elegantly
Choux sell on refinement, so the box has to look the part, and we offer clear windows and elegant closed finishes to frame these little showpieces. A window lets a row of glossy eclairs or a pile of profiteroles sell themselves on the counter, while a premium closed box feels like a gift worth giving. Either way, the packaging is designed to present the pastries beautifully and lift their perceived value, helping a patisserie command the price its craft deserves.
Sizes for every choux
Choux come in several shapes, so we build the full range. Long, divided boxes suit rows of eclairs, deeper boxes with cavities hold profiteroles and cream puffs, and gift boxes cover assortments and croquembouche components. We tailor the inserts to your specific pastries, so a slim eclair, a round puff, or a mixed selection each sits securely and looks deliberate, keeping the presentation flawless whatever is in the box.
Formats and options
Choux service takes a few forms, so we build for each:
- Divided boxes for rows of eclairs
- Cavity boxes for profiteroles and puffs
- Assortment and gift boxes
- Windowed and elegant closed finishes
- Chilled-friendly builds for cream fillings
- Recycled and FSC-certified board options
Branding and sustainability
A choux box is a small luxury and often a gift, so it is premium brand space, and we print full color or add elegant finishes for a box as refined as the pastries inside. Because patisserie packaging is increasingly judged on waste, recycled and FSC-certified board, plant-based window films, and water-based inks are available for a greener box that still feels luxurious. Choux boxes sit within our wider bakery packaging range and pair with our pastry boxes and dessert boxes for a full patisserie lineup.
