Pie Boxes
Custom pie boxes with a firm flat base and optional window that hold pies level, resist grease, and close securely for the trip home.
Product Overview
A pie box has to protect a heavy, often delicate item and show it off at the same time. Pies are weighty and prone to a broken crust or a spilled filling, so the box needs a firm, flat base and walls that hold the pie level without sliding. Many pies also sell on appearance, so a window that shows the golden crust or the fruit filling does a lot of the selling on a bakery counter. It has to handle warm pies without going soggy, close securely for the trip home, and stack neatly. Whether it is a single hand pie or a whole family pie, the box has to keep it intact and appetizing.
Our custom pie boxes are built to hold pies level, fresh, and on show. In short:
- Firm, flat base that holds the pie level
- Optional window that shows the crust or filling
- Grease and moisture-resistant for warm pies
- Secure close for a safe trip home
- Single, sharing, and whole-pie sizes
- Full-color branding, ships and stores flat
Great packaging starts with the right substrate, and we stock six of them: Kraft Board, Corrugated Board, Coated Art Board (C1S), Rigid Greyboard, Solid Bleached Sulfate (SBS), and Metallic Board. That range runs the gamut, recyclable kraft for artisan and sustainable labels, dense greyboard for luxury rigid boxes, and bright virgin-fibre SBS for cosmetics, pharma, and premium retail. From cost-effective corrugated mailers for a growing shop to the reassuring heft of a magnetic-closure rigid box, every sheet is FSC-certified and chosen to hold up on the shelf, through shipping, and in the customer's hands.
Finishing is what turns a printed box into one people remember, and we offer the full toolkit: soft-touch matte lamination, high-gloss lamination, silk lamination, spot UV, gold and silver foil stamping, embossing, debossing, and aqueous coating. A hit of spot UV gives a gloss-on-matte contrast that pulls the eye straight to your logo, while soft-touch lamination lends rigid boxes a velvety hand-feel that reads as quality before the lid even moves. Foil on SBS or coated art paper adds the crisp metallic detail luxury cosmetic, fragrance, and gifting brands use to justify premium pricing and earn unboxing shares.
How a box feels, and how it survives the journey, comes down to paper weight, so we stock the full span from lightweight 8pt to heavyweight 28pt, measured on the point system US and UK suppliers share. The lighter 8pt–12pt range is ideal for folding cartons and high-volume retail runs. The 14pt–18pt mid-range is the true workhorse of product packaging: sturdy enough to protect, slim enough to ship affordably. Step up to 20pt–28pt and you get the rigid, substantial feel that luxury gift boxes, rigid set-up boxes, and premium cosmetic packaging depend on, where sheer heft signals quality before the box is opened.
Custom Pie Boxes That Keep Every Pie Level and Looking Great
A pie is one of the trickiest bakery items to package because it is heavy, often deep-filled, and easy to ruin in transit. Tip it and the filling spills, jolt it and the crust cracks, let it sit warm in a sealed box and the pastry goes soft. At the same time, pies sell hard on looks: a glossy golden crust, a lattice top, or a glimpse of fruit filling is what makes a customer pick one up, so the box often needs to show the pie off as well as protect it. Then there is the range, from a single hand pie to a whole family pie, each needing its own snug fit. A good pie box has to solve weight, presentation, freshness, and fit all at once, which is exactly what ours are built to do.
Holds the pie level and secure
The biggest risk with a pie is movement, so we build boxes with a firm, flat base and walls sized to hold the pie snugly and level. A stable base stops the pie sliding and tipping, which keeps the filling in place and the crust intact from the counter to the customer's table. That secure fit is what lets someone carry a deep-filled pie home without it turning into a mess in the corner of the box, and it is the difference between a proud purchase and a disappointment.
Shows off the crust
Pies sell on appearance, so we offer clear windows that reveal the golden crust, the lattice, or the fruit filling. That view is powerful on a bakery counter, letting the pie itself do the selling and setting a mouth-watering expectation before the box is even opened. For fruit pies, quiches, and decorative tops especially, showing the product off lifts perceived value and helps a handmade pie command the price it deserves against a plain, closed competitor.
Keeps warm pies fresh
Pies are often sold warm or still cooling, and trapped steam is what turns a crisp crust soft, so we build with grease and moisture-resistant board and can add subtle ventilation. That manages the steam so the pastry holds its texture rather than sweating, and the grease-resistant stock stops a buttery crust from soaking and weakening the box. Keeping the crust crisp all the way home is a big part of what makes a bakery pie feel worth the extra over a supermarket one.
Sturdy for a heavy item
A family pie is heavy, so the box has to carry real weight, and we build with rigid board and a reinforced base that will not sag or give way. The box holds its shape when it is picked up by the sides or the lid, and it resists denting if it is stacked or set down hard. That sturdiness protects both the pie and the customer's confidence, because a box that flexes alarmingly under a heavy pie undermines the quality the bakery is trying to sell.
Sizes for every pie
Pies come in a wide range, so we build the full spread. Small boxes suit hand pies, pasties, and individual servings, mid sizes fit standard round and rectangular pies, and large boxes hold whole family and sharing pies. We can build snug inserts or bases for odd shapes and deep fillings, so each pie sits securely rather than rattling around, keeping the presentation neat whatever is on the menu.
Formats and options
Pie service takes a few forms, so we build for each:
- Single hand-pie and individual boxes
- Standard round and rectangular pie boxes
- Whole family and sharing pie boxes
- Windowed styles that show the crust
- Kraft and fully printed finishes
- Recycled and FSC-certified board options
Branding and sustainability
A pie box travels from the bakery to a home table, often as part of a special meal, so it is meaningful brand space, and we print full color with your logo, colors, and story for a box that feels like a treat. Because bakery packaging is high volume and increasingly judged on waste, recycled and FSC-certified board, plant-based window films, and water-based inks are available for a greener box. Pie boxes sit within our wider bakery packaging range and pair with our pastry boxes and dessert boxes for a full counter lineup.
